Growing up in Ballard, North Seattle, Brian still calls the Pacific Northwest home. From the mountains to the sound to eastern Washington for the waterskiing lakes, he finds joy in the unique blend of nature and city life and how easy and close all the different places are, along with the familiarity of local roads and faces. There’s no place like home.
Brian likes to fill his time building a business and working ALL THE TIME! Gotta have goals in everything you do. Brian likes to work in the yard if he has any free time from Home Inspecting, which he loves to do. He also likes to create and build beautiful custom homes when given the chance. Nothing like a beautifully crafted home and all the special attention to detail.
His father’s work ethic and his mother’s care for the home and hospitality left a lasting impression on Brian. He also leans on his wife Michelle for insight and balance to life. They have three great kids that are all different and approach life from unique perspectives. He hopes they all continue to be loving, caring independent critical thinking people they give back more than they have been given. Brian is especially grateful for Michelle’s support—her willingness to go through the failures and learning and still sticking with him fuels his drive to work hard and make the most of every opportunity. She’s been by his side through the journey and knows and expects his best in both business and life.
Brian takes pride in being a resource for his community—helping whenever he can, offering guidance, and creating opportunities for others to pursue their passions whenever given the chance to contribute. Life’s a gift and being a light to others is sooooo important to help the next generation coming up and those around you.
Brian’s first job was mowing lawns with his neighbor Leroy Tanzer (so much fun and so much work! ) and at Evergreen Printing during high school in Ballard, where he applied his strong work ethic. They later asked him to come on full time out of high school as a press operator, probably due to his strong work ethic and attention to detail. Later, he transitioned to PSE (the utility company) for 14 years and then eventually into the construction industry, where he owned and operated his own construction business. (Lots of learning there. Lost everything multiple times over and had to start from the bottom again) Over the years, he worked on a variety of custom home building projects, honing his skills in all aspects of construction. This experience naturally led Brian into home inspections, where his expertise in construction and attention to detail continue to hopefully make a difference with all those he gets to help with their houses.
Brian has tried to build his team with people who actually care about what they do, and makes sure that everyone is focused on being trustworthy, living with integrity, being a good person and hopefully helpful to everyone they get the chance to work with. He always strives to provide the best service to both clients and the community and to hopefully leave a lasting good impression on everyone. It’s simply one good inspection after another and doing your best. And if you make a mistake own it, make it right, learn from it and do better going forward.
